Hybrid Configuration

Heartland’s Hybrid configuration brings ultimate flexibility and value to a customer with available exhaust heat from an on-site landfill gas powered engine. The configuration ducts together thermal energy from engine exhaust with heat from a biogas or landfill gas flare, reducing ongoing energy costs while providing flexibility to increase evaporation capacity when required.

The flare is designed to supply sufficient thermal energy for operation without utilizing engine exhaust, allowing for simultaneous operation of the Heartland Concentrator™ and maintenance of the engine. A simple and easy-to-configure control system automatically switches between landfill gas and engine waste heat as necessary. This enables the operator to utilize waste heat when available and maximize capacity when necessary.
