ACEC selected Heartland's Evaporation Facility at the Three Rivers Regional Landfill as the most unique, innovative, and socially impactful engineering project of 2021. The facility evaporates leachate on-site using engine exhaust from an existing LFG to Energy plant, enabling Three Rivers to simultaneously establish control over its leachate management, make a positive ESG impact, and reduce overall landfill operating costs.
